Successful completion of the advisory for Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank

Takayuki Urade, CEO of JNEW, has successfully completed the advisory work for Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) since February 2022 and left the advisor's position on April 26, 2024.

Under this responsibility, thanks to the dedicated supports from TADB as a counterpart, JICA as a sponsor, and other relevant stakeholders, a number of advises as well as tangible tools have been provided to TADB, on such issues as investment analysis, credit rating, monitoring & evaluation, project origination, organizational structure, collaboration with external entities as well as other agricultural projects supported by JICA. 

Let us express our special thanks for this great opportunity to support TADB as a key player in developing agricultural sector in Tanzania, and sincerely hope TADB's further development.

Takayuki Urade, CEO, organized an Irrigation Seminar at Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank.

On February 19~23, 2024, Takayuki Urade, CEO of JNEW and an Advisor to Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organized an Irrigation Seminar for its staff members from the headquarters and the zonal offices. 

The seminar was designed to strengthen the capacity of TADB officers to finance irrigation projects, and with the support from various external experts --- Mr. Ryu Toshima, a short-term JICA expert from Sanyu Consultants International, Dr. Shinji Hirouchi from JIRCAS (Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences) and Mr. Yoichi Kawanishi from Ebara Corporation ---, the program covered wide-ranging topics such as the technical basics of irrigation schemes, Japanese assistance in Tanzania, irrigation equipment & cost estimation methodology. Also, Urade guided the participants to the case studies for financing irrigation projects. The program was highly appreciated by the participants for its comprehensive approach to become able to deal with irrigation projects from bankers' point of view.

Starting in February 2022, Urade has been advising TADB on technical skills for agricultural finance with inputs from Japanese experiences and latest practices, which is expected to contribute to further developing the agricultural sector in Tanzania from financial aspect.

Takayuki Urade, CEO, organized a PE Investment Seminar at Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank.

On December 11~12, 2023, Takayuki Urade, CEO of JNEW and an Advisor to Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organized a Private Equity (PE) Investment Seminar for its staff members from the headquarters and the zonal offices. 

At the seminar, potential of utilizing PE funds in agricultural finance was introduced, which was followed by the discussion with a guest speaker, Mr. Salum Awadh, CEO of SSC Capital, the first PE fund operating in Tanzania. The program was highly appreciated by the participants for its practicality and implication on their banking business.

Starting in February 2022, Urade has been advising TADB on technical skills for agricultural finance with inputs from Japanese experiences and latest practices, which is expected to contribute to further developing the agricultural sector in Tanzania from financial aspect.

Takayuki Urade, CEO, instructed at a training workshops for the government officials in two Pacific

Following the previous round in February this year, Takayuki Urade, CEO of JNEW, gave a series of training workshops on project economic analysis in Papua New Guinea (June 6~16) and Solomon Islands (June 26~30) for economic and infrastructure ministries, as well as transport agencies.

The program was provided as a part of the project supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), 'Public Investment Management in Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea', and was highly appreciated by these ministries for improving the quality of their analyses.
